Healthy Smiles, Healthy Hearts — A Look Ahead with HF4C
As We Move into the Season of Gratitude
This year marks Health Fund for Children’s (HF4C) 5th anniversary — five years of supporting children across the Lowcountry with life-changing access to healthcare. We are so grateful for the community of donors, partners, and families who have been part of this journey.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also want to share a few meaningful updates and highlight why your continued involvement matters so deeply. Your generosity helps children across the Lowcountry access the care they need — from brighter smiles to stronger hearts. Here’s what’s been happening and what’s ahead.
The Genesis Story: Continuing Our Commitment
We continue to stay in touch with families we’ve supported, including Cristian and Genesis — HF4C’s very first child served. Cristian is still awaiting his heart surgery, and we continue to help him and his family navigate his ongoing care. Every connection, big or small, reminds us why this mission matters and keeps us focused on ensuring consistent access to healthcare for children in need.
Expanding Access to Dental Care
We’re excited to share that we’ve begun a new partnership to expand access to preventive dental care for children who are uninsured or underinsured. This effort will help ensure more kids receive essential cleanings and checkups — simple, preventive care that supports both long-term health and confidence.
Partnering for Heart-Healthy Futures
We’re proud to continue referring families to MUSC’s Wellness Works Program, an initiative helping children build lifelong habits around movement, nutrition, and overall wellness.

Join Us at the Building Healthy Communities 5K
We’re also excited to share that HF4C will have a booth at the 11th Annual Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk on February 14 at Hampton Park in downtown Charleston — a beautiful setting for a heart-healthy community event.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we prepare for the year ahead, we’re exploring new ways to reach families who may not know help is available and strengthening community partnerships to make that support easier to access.
If you know of a family with children who may benefit from assistance — whether they’re uninsured, underinsured, or facing barriers to care — please reach out or share our information. Your connections help us reach the children who need us most.
Thank You!
Thank you for being part of this small but mighty community, making a big impact across the Lowcountry.
Warmly,
The Health Fund for Children Team
